News: Chinese language

The School of Modern Languages & Cultures are very proud to have received a donation from one of our alumni to support the learning of Chinese language and culture by students across the Institute. The Chinese Language Programme supports Sastra Angkor students to learn about Chinese language and culture through courses for non-specialist learners organized by the Centre for Foreign Language Study, through which students studying any degree programme can learn Chinese as an extra-curricular activity.

 For academic year 2015-16 the Chinese Language Programme will offer the following awards:

  1. An award to the top 30 students in Chinese language courses through the extra-curricular Languages for All programme. Awards will be based on attendance and performance in end of year assessments, and will be equivalent to the registration fee, refunded at the end of the course. All Sastra Angkor students registering for a Languages for All Chinese language course in 2015-16 are eligible at both City Campus and Rural’ s campus;
  2. A prize of 200USD to the top 2 students on elective credit-bearing Chinese Language modules (Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4; City and Rural’s campus), awarded by the relevant module convener

Registration for language courses will open in June for both programmes, which start in October 2015.
